International Human Rights Day
The NCU Department of Human Rights and the NCU Student Organization of Public International Law and Human Rights warmly invite the academic community to celebrate International Human Rights Day on December 10th, commemorating the anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
For this occasion, we invite you to three events that will take place on Monday, December 11th:
- The ninth guest lecture, "Africa's Contribution to the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights," will be delivered by Dr. Eduardo Kapapelo (Project Manager and Researcher at the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria, South Africa). Where and when? 2:00 PM, courtroom at the Faculty of Law and Administration (WPiA) at UMK or online on the BBB platform at https://vc.umk.pl/b/jul-x4e-92m.
- Opening of a poster exhibition on the theme of human rights. The works presented are created by students of the Graphic Design Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, UMK. Where and when? 3:00 PM, the connector between the old and new buildings of WPiA.
- Human Rights Pub Quiz. Where and when? 5:00 PM, "Od Nowa" club.

Human Rights Department (Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń) and Poznań Human Rights Centre (Institute of Law Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences) are pleased to invite you to a 9th lecture of a Lecture series „Contemporary issues of human rights theory and practice. Global, regional and national perspectives”. The Lecture series is organized in association with AHRI.
Guest lecture will be delivered by dr EDUARDO KAPAPELO who will be presenting a topic "Africas contribution to the promotion and protection of human rights”

ABOUT OUR GUEST:
Eduardo Kapapelo is a Project Manager and Researcher at the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Eduardo’s areas of expertise include the African Human Rights system in comparative perspectives, the international politics of human rights, authoritarian regimes and political repression. Eduardo is currently working on topics involving climate justice and human rights, decoloniality and the women, peace and security agenda.
Eduardo holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Law and a master’s degree in Multidisciplinary Human Rights from the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
